Introduction
Hello and Welcome!  We are so happy you are here.  If you are considering adoption, or know someone who is, we Thank You you very much for taking the time to learn a bit about us!

Our names are Julie, Dave and Naomi, and we are a fun little family of three, hoping to become four!  We know that making an adoption plan and giving your child life takes enormous strength and courage.  We don't know exactly how a Birth Parent feels, but we feel a great sense of compassion for what you must be going through.  It's hard to put into words how much respect we have for you.

Our story began back in 1998 when Dave and I met at a street festival in Chicago called the "Sheffield Garden Walk".  We were together for six years before getting married, but we knew pretty early on that each of us had found our life-partner.  So in
November of 2004, we tied the knot in my hometown of St. Louis.  It was a beautiful beginning to our married life together.

Underneath our romance is a genuine friendship, a genuine concern for one another and desire to see the other person be happy.  Both of us have a goofy sense of humor which is a big part of what attracted us to one another.  This comes in handy when life throws us a curve ball or gets complicated in some way.  As a couple, we are also opposite in several ways which makes life fun and keeps us on our toes!  I don't necessarily like to plan, I go mostly on instinct and I relate well to just about any type of person you can throw at me.  I'll admit - I can be quite chatty, and I love shoes.  Dave likes to research, plan and make slightly more calculated moves.  But wait - you would think I am the more impulsive one right?  Not so.  It is true that Dave likes to have a plan and all of that, but he is also the one who gets me out there doing fun and new stuff I wouldn't normally do.  He is more "goofball" than he is "type-A", so it works out pre
tty well!

We are very close to our families.  I lost my Dad to cancer when I was eleven years old and Dave's Dad passed away just a few years ago.  It is always hard to lose a parent, but it has definitely made us treasure our family all the more.  We love spending time with them.  There are many things we love to do together as a couple, and as a family - and we are always adding to that list!  We like being outside, taking bike rides, swimming, boating and fishing.  We love to travel (more about that later).  We eat dinner together every night and love to prepare interesting and healthy foods.  I have a passion for natural and organic food, and Dave is an excellent cook - so we have a lot of fun in the kitchen.  Dave's also a big snowboarder (and skier) and he is looking forward to teaching Naomi to ski next year.  Skiing is one of those things that Dave got me to do for the first time, about ten years ago.  I will never be as good as he is, but I love cruising down the easy hills, and watching Dave do tricks on his snowboard!

Dave and I hope this website will give you a good idea of who we are as people, as parents, and as a family.  We would be honored to share more with you - as much as you would like.  So please don't hesitate to call us anytime.  You will find that we are friendly and down-to-earth people.  Above all, we are respectful of your feelings and privacy.  We wish you peace in this process and comfort in the knowledge that your heart will lead you in the right direction.

Julie & Dave - November 13, 2004.  If memory serves us correctly, while this picture was being taken the conversation went something like this: "Whoa...(giggle)...can you believe we are married!?  And by the way...how come they say you never have fun at your own wedding?!"
